Patrick Wolf.

(I've deleted one video here. As I realised that it's no more the same song I was listening to. -___-)

Honestly, I don't know much about him but I like his music and the way he plays the music :)

Lykke Li. jamming. in the toilet.

I think I need someone to stop me from clicking on her videos.
She is so freaky yet so perfect.
Even in a toilet :-O

Sometimes I find myself smiling to myself while scanning through the comments on you-tube.
I saw this for this video:
"Bathrooms are known for nice acoustics." - Jamesscalise
Cute.

El Perro Del Mar - God Knows (You gotta give to get)

Hey you might like this song.

The video is so cute.
The lyrics are so good
(although it's quite annoying after repeating for sometimes -__-)

"You gotta give to get ~"

:)

Lykke Li.

Found Lykke Li when I was wondering around.
Clicked on her song in editors' pick in Rolling Stone - I Follow Rivers.
Not too bad. The cover of the album attracts me too. Dark and mysterious.
So I went you-tube more about her.

I am so happy to meet this pretty voice, she was described in Rolling Stone as: an ingenious oddball.
Anyway, I was so excited to share this, until... I heard this song:

I thought, it sounds familiar, but I couldn't remember from which movie I heard this.
I scrolled down the page, and I saw this comment:
"I'm glad I was a fan of Lykke Li before Twilight. :]" - Tekkiee
Then, I mumbled inside my heart: What the hell. People might think that I like her because of Twilight.
So, I want to clarify that I am not a big fan of Twilight, beside Jacob.
Anyway, who cares.

The main point here is Lykke Li.
Great one for me to escape from the reality.

(ps: I couldn't post the original MV for the 2nd and 3rd video. I highly recommend that you go youtube search for the original video. Different feeling to listen it with the videos, especially for the I'm Good, I'm Gone )

Hole.

I am a little addicted to this band - Hole.
The vocal is Courtney Love, who was the wife of Kurt Cobain from Nirvana.
(Some rumours said that she killed her husband :-O so they dislike her. But, again, who fucking cares about the gossips.)
Anyway, I really like the first video, which makes me feel young again. Haha!

Let's rock and roll again! Feel the life! Feel young! Woohoo!
I really need to feel that again, I am feeling so old so dull so lack of motivation now :(

Tommy Ton: Fashion blogger x photographer.

I can't wait to introduce this fashion blogger I found! I love his blog immediately, inside there are photos he took and it was said that his photos did little retouch as he likes the reality of them.

He shot Tavi, the young blogger I admire so much!!, for the Vogue Paris.

He also was invited to capture Anna Dello Russo
For your info, Anna Dello Russo is the editor-at-large and creative consultant for Vogue Japan.

I really love how he focus on the details instead of capturing the whole look of the person.

How lovely they are dressed up, how romantic this street is.

Monsters. (Please do not judge it by its title!)

Honestly, I am not a fan of aliens/monsters movie. For what I remember, I have gone to cinema for this type of movie only twice in my life, so far.
One was the 28 Weeks Later, although that didn't change my feeling over this kind of movie, I was impressed by the fact that it was shot by DV. Quite a new idea, I think.

Anyways, today is my second time for aliens movie. I was not too sure about it before buying the ticket. However, the poster printed that the title of three awards from British Independent Film Award, I think I could give it a try provided that there was no other choice in that cinema. Independent film, you know, that really attracts me.

It turns out to be totally out of my expectation! Unlike 28 Weeks Later, this does not have much monsters, not much scary-sound-effect which would shock people suddenly, the director did not focus on the aliens and the attacks. No, not at all, not like the normal aliens films.

The director indirectly shows the anxious of the residents, indirectly shows the seriousness of the attacks by the aliens through the news reported in TV, indirectly shows the sadness and the confusions of the characters, also ironically shows that the country protects themselves in a 'castle' without caring the disasters outside the wall they build surrounding themselves. The 'aliens', which the poster described as 'residents', maybe represents the fear inside us which we need to adapt to. Some craps I think of.

I also love the close-up shots. So beautiful.

By the way, the reviews are not all good about it. Over 6 and below 7, average. I thought it should be higher, but it is just a topic about aliens anyway. I also understand that it might be a little slow-pace and, maybe without climax, for some people.

Anyway, I am glad that I've given it a try today and I got more than just an aliens/monsters film.

The Vaccines.

Hey try this UK band - The Vaccines.
(Know this from Cheuk Wan Zhi's blog)
Not sure if you like this kind of music or not but I have repeated the first video [Lack of Understanding] for many times while I was reading and blogging, unknowingly.

Hmm, I am not sure what genre this is, who cares.

Japanese Boro Textiles & Gee's Bend Quilt.

Ahhh.. I was doing some research about 'Boro' textile of Japan. Before that I knew nothing about it.
I found this.

"19th c. Japanese cotton futon cover called “Boro” made from recycled indigo dyed cloth in patches joined together."

"19th century Boro textile."

"Boro Cotton Kimono, Yamagata Prefecture (Northern Japan) c. 1900"
Then, I saw there is mention about Gee's Bend Quilt. So, I look for it further due to curiosity.

Check out more Gee's Bend Quilt here.

I find it pretty nice and it is like an art-piece. I think they really need to have sense of beauty to make those, instead of just patching up the spoilt garments.

Of course, it is beautiful for both the Boro and Gee's Bend works.
Before ending this post, let's pray for Japan and the world.

Greed.

Hey check this out! It's not new, but I've just seen it in E! few days ago. It's directed by Roman Polanski, who was an Oscar winner.

Owh, this video is also by the artist - Francesco Vezzoli. You know, this video, the perfume that Natalie Portman and Michelle Williams fighting for, is a imaginary perfume! HAHA!
At first when I saw the video I thought it was a real commercial for Perfume by Francesco Vezzoli, but it turns out that it is just a teaser commercial.

Funny.
The concept it interesting although I expected more from the director.

Andre Leon Talley

Remember I mentioned to you before a judge from America's Next Top Model?
Who I described him as a big black guy with robes always. 'Buddha', I believe I mentioned that word which you had a quite strong negative feeling against. Haha!

Wiki: André Leon Talley (born October 16, 1949) is the former American editor-at-large for Vogue magazine, listed as Contributing Editor in the April 2010 masthead. Talley has been a front-row regular at fashion shows in New York, Paris, London and Milan for more than 25 years.

Yea I admit that his outfits is not very...easy... for normal people to carry it. But maybe he is 'high fashion'? Uhm..
Anyway, I am easily attracted by weird people like this. Honestly, I quite admire his character. He has his style! Lol

Owh, if you can't agree with his style above, then maybe this:

(That is Anna Wintour the editor-in-chief of Vogue I mentioned to you before too)
